Hernani- Gipuzkoa, May 28, 2025. – Last Wednesday, we attended the 10th Annual AEFAME Assembly held at CHILLIDALEKU. This meeting with institutional, economic, business, and social representatives from the Basque Country was held in the context of the Association's tenth anniversary.
The event was attended by Felipe Villaño, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Lontana Group and member of the AEFAME Board, and Yera Cámara, member of the Kimua Board.
Under the slogan ‘10 years rooting the future together’, José Miguel Lanzagorta opened the session with a speech that highlighted roots and governance as key strategic axes for successfully ensuring the continuity of family businesses.
These levers were discussed in the interesting presentations by Manuel Domínguez de la Maza, CEO of Mayoral Moda Infantil, Liliana Posse Espinosa and Santiago Perry Espinosa, and Alfonso Líbano, vice president of COBEGA S.A. and president of FBN (Family Business Network) International.
The event was closed by Lehendakari Imanol Pradales Gil, who expressed the Basque Government's commitment to family businesses, which currently account for 84% of the Basque Country's business fabric.

AEFAME is an independent, non-profit, regional business organization that brings together more than 80 family businesses that are leaders in their sectors.
Currently, in the Basque Country, 84% of the Basque business fabric is made up of family businesses, highlighting their role as the backbone of the Basque economy.
Likewise, family businesses are a clear contributor to job creation and a significant source of employment, representing 55.45% of employment in the Basque Country and 44% of added value.
Since its foundation in 2015, the Association has established itself as a benchmark in the business world, dedicated to defending the interests of family businesses and business families, promoting their value, and ensuring the training of future generations.
