We open a new mechanical testing laboratory at our Larrabetzu headquarters

Jun 19, 2024

The new 55m2 space serves different centres of the Group and has equipment for mechanical testing and metallographic analysis.

In the mechanical testing section, equipment has been acquired for hardness, micro-hardness and tensile testing, with cutting-edge technologies that represent a substantial improvement over the previous ones.

One of the most important investments has been the acquisition of a new universal testing machine from the manufacturer Zwick Roell with a maximum load of 1000 kN, which will allow us to test bolts up to M36 in class 10.9.

According to Ánder Carmelo Cárdenas, Technical Manager of Fasteners and Welding:

“With the new laboratory we are able to reduce response times, obtain a more precise characterisation of materials and have greater analysis capacity”.

The inauguration of this laboratory is an important investment that strengthens the organisation’s infrastructure, highlighting the Group’s commitment to innovation and growth plans.
